Quest: A Writer’s Journey
Join us as we celebrate the publication of an anthology showcasing twenty-six memoirs and interviews of outstanding writers from diverse backgrounds who recall how they started.
Discussing the ups and downs in their own beginnings as writers, live presenters will include:
Sandy McIntosh, Editor in Chief and Publisher of Marsh Hawk Press, and former Professor of English and Creative Writing at Hofstra University. The late Pulitzer Prize- winning playwright, Lanford Wilson, described McIntosh’s writing as “Gorgeous! So much of it is lyrical and funny and moving.”
Spencer Rumsey, former Assistant Opinion Editor at Newsday, and Associate Director of Communications at Long Island University. He is the author of a novel.
Writers presenting on Zoom will include:

Mary Mackey is the author of eight collections of poetry and fourteen novels, including A Grand Passion and The Village of Bones, The Year the Horses Came, The
Horses At the Gate, and The Fires of Spring, four sweeping historical novels that take as their subject the earth-centered, Goddess-worshiping cultures of Neolithic Europe.Danusha Laméris, former Poet Laureate of California and author of three books of poems, and winner of the Paterson Poetry Prize (2020) and the 2021 Northern California Book Award.
